Matt Fagerson will win his 50th cap for Scotland against Australia at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Sunday.
Fagerson, who made his international debut against USA in 2018, returns to a side showing 14 changes from last week's win over Portugal.
The Glasgow Warriors man, who started the defeat to South Africa on the blindside flank, to start at number eight in place of the injured Jack Dempsey as Jamie Ritchie takes the number six shirt.
Scott Cummings returns from his one-match suspension after being sent off against the Springboks and will partner Grant Gilchrist in the second row, while Pierre Schoeman and Zander Fagerson again pack down either side of Ewan Ashman in the front row.
Behind the scrum, there is just one alteration from the South Africa match as Darcy Graham - who equalled wing partner Duhan van der Merwe for the Scotland try record with his 29th Test score against Portugal - comes into the side having missed the Springboks' visit with a head injury.
His inclusion allows Blair Kinghorn to move to fullback in place of Tom Jordan, who is on the bench, while captain Sione Tuipulotu and Huw Jones are again paired in the centres .
Ben White and Finn Russell are reunited at half-back.
Meanwhile, Australia have handed a debut to wing Harry Potter as Joe Schmidt makes six changes from their 52-20 win over Wales last weekend.
Rugby league convert Joseph Sua'ali'i, who made his professional rugby union debut in the win over England a fortnight ago, starts in place of the banned Samu Kerevi. Jake Gordon also returns at scrum-half.
Captain Harry Wilson - who sat out the Wales win after a concussion at Twickenham - is named at number eight, and Carlo Tizzano will start at openside.
