Australia will be without experienced centre Samu Kerevi for Sunday’s match against Scotland after he was handed a three-week ban.

Kerevi was shown a 20-minute red card for a high tackle on Wales' Jac Morgan in their win at the weekend.

The 31-year-old, who won his 50th cap in Cardiff, appeared before an independent Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday evening, and the committee upheld the red card.

They determined that the mid-range entry point of six weeks was appropriate.

However, the full 50 per cent reduction was applied after Kerevi accepted he committed an act of foul play as well as other mitigating factors, such as his clean disciplinary record, remorse and his good conduct throughout the hearing.

The matches Kerevi will miss are yet to be determined, but he will definitely sit out Sunday's clash at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

In his absence, Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt is expected to turn to Joseph Sua'ali'i to fill the gap in his midfield. The 21-year-old NRL convert was outstanding on his rugby union debut as the Wallabies beat England at Twickenham.
