Edinburgh Rugby pro-academy players Euan McVie and Tom Currie have joined English Championship side Doncaster Knights on a short-term loan.

Back-row Currie, the younger brother of Edinburgh and Scotland centre Matt, and  lock McVie both featured for Edinburgh ‘A’ in recent weeks.

The duo were also an integral part of the Scotland U20 side that won promotion back to the top-tier U20 World Championship by lifting the World Rugby U20 Trophy in the summer.

The pair will hope the short-term move has the same impact it did for Glasgow lock Max Williamson, who spent the second half of the 2022/23 season at Castle Park before returning to Scotstoun.
