A penalty try four minutes from time saw Edinburgh 'A' fall to Saracens Storm at StoneX Stadium.

The home side made a perfect start when Olamide Sodeke and Brandon Jackson going over for tries inside the opening five minutes, with Louie Johnson converting to give the hosts a 14-0 lead early on.

Edinburgh fought back and got their first points of the evening when prop Mikey Jones crossed, only for Jackson's second on 15 minutes to give Sarries control once more.

Jerry Blyth-Lafferty, the Scotland under-20 hooker, scored the first of a brace of tries as an Edinburgh side that included Scotland cap Luke Crosbie on his return from a neck injury battled to stay in contention.

Calum Braley, the Italy international scrum-half, added a fourth try for Saracens before the interval as they lead 26-19 at the break.

The second half was not as free-scoring, but when the first points did come they went to Edinburgh, Kerr Yule the man to score from a maul. Cammy Scott landed the conversion to level the scores.

It seemed like the visitors were going to return north with a creditable draw, before they were judged to have pulled down a maul and Saracens were awarded a penalty try to give them victory.

After victory over Glasgow last weekend, Edinburgh 'A' will return south of the border next week to play Bath's second string at The Rec next Saturday.
