Glasgow Warriors are close to finalising a deal that will see their home leg of the 1872 Cup move from Scotstoun to Hampden Park. 

The first leg of the United Rugby Championship (URC) double-header will be played on December 21

Edinburgh regularly move their home leg from their 7,000-capacity Hive Stadium home to Scottish Gas Murrayfield, which holds 67,000 supporters.

The inter-city derby in the capital last December attracted a crowd of more than 30,000.

While the deal is not yet confirmed, Scotland Rugby News understands it is expected to be rubber-stamped in the coming days.
