Scotland back-row Luke Crosbie will make his first appearance of the season for Edinburgh 'A' against Saracens at StoneX Stadium tomorrow night.

The 27-year-old has been out with a neck injury, but takes his place at number eight in a side that features a handful of senior squad members.

Crosbie joins captain Connor Boyle, vice-captain Cammy Scott, lock Rob Carmichael and prop Mikey Jones as the more experienced names in the side, which also includes two Glasgow Warriors academy players, wing Amena Caqusau and centre Jonny Ventisei.

A further five Glasgow-aligned players are named on the Edinburgh bench, which also includes Scotland U20 hooker Seb Stephen from Edinburgh Accies.

Edinburgh Rugby pro-academy coach, Kris Burney, said: “It was great to get off to a winning start to a new 'A' team campaign last weekend, while still recognising there are areas we can and need to improve.

“There continues to be a real buzz around the group and the prospect of playing for the 'A' side, both for the collective pride of playing for Edinburgh but also the chance to develop or promote your case for senior selection, against quality opposition.

“That will certainly be true this weekend as we travel to face Saracens at StoneX Stadium, where both pride in the jersey and the noted improvements in our performance will need to be evident to challenge what we expect to be a very strong Saracens side.”

Saracens have two full internationals of their own in their starting side,  USA front row Kapeli Pifeleti joining Italy scrum-half Calum Braley.
