Scotland internationals Jack Dempsey and Huw Jones are set to make their first appearances of the season when Glasgow travel to Cardiff on Friday evening.

The pair have missed the opening two games of the season with back and calf injuries, respectively, but are included in a side showing nine changes from the bonus point win over Benetton at Scotstoun last Friday.

Up front, there is an all-new front five  as Rory Sutherland and Sam Talakai pack down either side of Johnny Matthews, while Alex Samuel and Scott Cummings are paired together in the engine room.

Matt Fagerson is the only member of last week's starting pack to retain his place in the team, though he does shift positions from number eight to the openside flank, with Dempsey anchoring the scrum and Gregor Brown onto the blindside flank.

Jamie Dobie remains at scrum-half, but will partner Tom Jordan at fly-half as he reverts to the position in which he helped guide the Warriors to the URC title.

Having started at outside centre last weekend, Sione Tuipulotu also shifts in one berth to allow Jones to take the 13 shirt, while Kyle Rowe and Josh McKay keep their places in the back three.

They are joined by Argentine wing Facundo Cordero, who is also set for his first appearance of the season.

Prop Patrick Schickerling, a summer signing from Exeter Chiefs, is in line for his Warriors debut from the bench.

Head coach Franco Smith said:  “We were pleased to record our first win of the season last weekend, but we know that there are still plenty of areas in which we can improve.

“Cardiff have recruited well during the summer and have started the season strongly, a start they will be keen to continue in front of their home support.

“We also look forward to seeing Patrick pull on the Glasgow jersey for the first time this weekend – he has quickly bought into our environment and has trained well to earn his opportunity.”

Meanwhile, unbeaten Cardiff make one change from their win over Scarlets last time out, with Harri Millard returning on the wing.

Their head coach, Matt Sherratt, said: “Glasgow have always been a very good team. The biggest compliment I can probably pay them is that they've got a real clear identity.

"That's a massive compliment to Franco and his coaching staff because their players are very clear on their DNA, their very clear on their game plan.

“So we know what to expect and it’s about meeting that challenge."
