Edinburgh Rugby have issued a squad update ahead of this week's Scottish Building Society pre-season fixture against Gloucester.

The match will take place on Friday evening at Hive Stadium as Sean Everitt's side prepare for competitive fixtures later this month.

As per the official Edinburgh Rugby website, eight players have received updates including Luke Crosbie, Nathan Sweeney, James Lang, Glen Young, Sam Skinner, Angus Williams, Robin Hislop and Jamie Stewart.

Here's the squad update list in full:

  • Luke Crosbie (neck) – Expected to return to training next week.
  • Nathan Sweeney (knee) – Continuing rehab and likely to return to fitness later this month.
  • James Lang (quad) – Expected to miss a number of weeks after sustaining a quad injury in training.
  • Glen Young (pec) – The lock continues to recover after sustaining the injury with Scotland. Young is expected to return by late October.
  • Sam Skinner (knee) – The lock continues his rehab after undergoing surgery in the off-season. Skinner is due to return in early November.
  • Angus Williams (hamstring) – The injury sustained in training will keep Williams out until mid-November.
  • Robin Hislop (knee) – Hislop continues to recover from a knee injury sustained last year and is due to return to full training by late October.
  • Jamie Stewart (knee) – The pro-academy prop will miss 6-8 weeks after sustaining the injury in training.
