She said: “I’m really looking forward to returning to the Premiership with Trailfinders.

"There’s a strong group of players that have been playing an exciting brand of rugby. I cant wait to get stuck in and hopefully contribute to the growth of the team.”

Giselle Mather, Ealing's director of women’s rugby, believes the Scotland cap can make a big impact.

She said: “Lisa’s exceptional rugby CV speaks for itself! Her outstanding skill set, her ability to control a game and her immense experience in competition will make a big impact in Trailfinders midfield.

“We are very excited to see her combine with the hugely talented athletes already in our back division and look forward to watching them take on Premiership defences next season."
