Scotland international Sarah Denholm has signed for Ealing Trailfinders and will play in the Professional Women's Rugby (PWR) league next season. 

Denholm, who made her Scotland debut against Wales in 2019, joins Chloe Rollie and Caity Mattinson in agreeing a move to Trailfinders ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. 

The fly-half most recently played for, and captained, the first-ever Edinburgh Rugby women's team in the Celtic Challenge having come through the ranks at Biggar RFC and the University of Edinburgh.

Denholm said: “I am so excited to join Trailfinders and can’t wait for the season ahead. It’s been exciting seeing the squad thrive in the PWR, setting such great foundations for the years ahead.

“It’s obvious that the team strive to play an expansive, fast-paced style of rugby which suits how I like to play. I’m certain that the club will help me to push on both as a player and as a person and I can’t wait to get started!”

Meanwhile Ealing Trailfinders' director of women’s rugby, Giselle Mather, said: “We are really looking forward to Sarah Denholm joining the club.

"Her thirst and obvious passion for the elite game is infectious. She has an excellent ability to fire her back line into space and we are very much looking forward to connecting her to the excellent talent we have in our back division here at Trailfinders Women."
