Glasgow Warriors managing director Al Kellock has revealed the club is working on plans for a title celebration in the city.

Kellock, who spoke exclusively to Scotland Rugby News, in the build-up to Saturday’s final, said the club had been making plans since reaching the play-offs, but did not wish to reveal details.

At the time, he said: “It could be something special so collectively we need to grab the opportunity to celebrate together, but there’s an awful lot of work to be done before that. We’ll see how we go.”

Kellock added it was important to keep talk of any potential celebrations away from the players in the run-up to the game.

“I remember the first final I played in, we had messages from all and sundry. It was just noise coming into the playing group. We realised then it wasn’t about that, it’s about concentrating on playing as well as we can.

“We have got plans made, and we’ve got a group – including myself – who are attached to that. One of the challenges is to make sure those plans stay completely separate to the performance team.”

Scotland Rugby News understands an event will be held at Scotstoun on Tuesday evening from 6pm, with the URC champions due to arrive about an hour later.
