Duncan Weir will remain at Glasgow Warriors after he penned a contract that will keep him at Scotstoun until at least 2026.
The veteran fly-half is in his second spell and did reveal he was close to a new contract earlier this year, and it has now been confirmed that he will remain part of Franco Smith's squad for next season.
With Adam Hastings returning to Scotstoun after his spell at Gloucester and Tom Jordan continuing to impress, there's stiff competition for a spot in the Glasgow team and Weir will provide back up to both of them.
Youngster Richie Simpson could also come into contention moving forward and Weir's experience is something that can come in useful for Smith and Glasgow.
Last week it was confirmed Scotland international Ross Thompson will leave Glasgow to join Edinburgh in the summer.

Weir, 33, has played 149 times for Glasgow Warriors over his two spells, having initially made his professional debut for the club in April 2010 and he went on to win the Pro12 title in 2014/15 before joining Edinburgh in 2016.
A two-year stint in the capital was followed by a move to England to join Worcester Warriors before he returned to Scotstoun in 2021.
Weir said: "This club was my boyhood club, and it’s a privilege every time I’m asked to pull on the shirt.
“I’ve really enjoyed being a part of this group this season and being more involved in the matchday squads, and I want to keep driving this team forwards and towards the top of the standings. We want to keep pushing for silverware and I’m looking forward to trying to achieve that at Scotstoun.
“There’s maybe a few more eyes on you when you get to my age – everyone’s trying to see if you’re slowing down!
"That definitely gives me a bit of a chip in my shoulder that I use to try keep up with the young bucks! Being one of the older heads is a role I enjoy, though – I know I’ve got a lot of experience over my 14 years of professional rugby and I want to share that to help those around me develop."
Weir's not just focusing on passing on his own experience, though. The Scotland international, who won the most recent of his 30 caps in the 2020 Six Nations, wants to continue making improvements to his own game.
He added: “I want to keep developing personally, too – I still feel like I’ve got areas in which I can learn from everyone here, and if I can do that while helping to drive standards then I’m more than happy to do so.
“I’ve also got almost every t-shirt in the wardrobe from my career to date – from everything going well, to injury, to non-selection, to everything else!
"I’m more than willing to share that experience with anyone and be a sounding board for whatever they need, and I can’t wait to keep on contributing to push this club in the right direction."
Weir could make his 150th appearance for Glasgow when Zebre visit Scotstoun on Friday night.
He said: "Being from Glasgow and having this connection to this club, that milestone isn’t even something that crossed my mind as possible when I was growing up.
"I cherish every appearance and I’m proud to give whatever I can to this club.”
