It was a mixed weekend for the Scottish professional sides in the United Rugby Championship this weekend with Glasgow earning a win and Edinburgh suffering defeat.

It all started on Friday night in the miserable weather conditions at Scotstoun when Warriors had to fight back from a 13-0 deficit at half time to win 17-13 against Cardiff before Edinburgh lost 43-21 in South Africa against Stormers.

Host Derek Clark was joined by editor Gavin Harper and writer Mark McDougall to discuss the events of the weekend and have a quick look ahead to this weekend’s games when Glasgow will face Scarlets and Edinburgh take on Sharks.

Mark was at Scotstoun to witness the second half comeback and gives his views on the match and talks up the willingness of Franco Smith to give his young players plenty of chance.

Gavin also watched that game and gave his views before looking towards Edinburgh, who he covered, and discussed the goings on in South Africa.

Finn Russell’s impressive performance for Bath and Josh Bayliss’s new contract at the club were also discussed, as was Scotland Women’s victory over Wales in the Six Nations.

We’ll also be back later in the week to preview this weekend’s action with Glasgow, Edinburgh and Scotland all involved.
