Edinburgh's Emiliano Boffelli has had a second surgery this year in a bid to clear up a long-standing back problem.
The Argentina international managed just seven appearances for the club last season after helping the Pumas to the Rugby World Cup semi-finals last year.
Boffelli suffered a recurrence of the problem in the build-up to Edinburgh's league opener against Leinster last month, and head coach Freddy Douglas will need to be patient at Edinburgh - Sean Everitt provided an update after naming his team to play Ospreys.

“We’re just going on ahead with Boff,” the Edinburgh head coach said.
“We’re hoping that he gets better soon. He’s recovering from surgery now. We’ve got to take it week to week with him."
Asked when Boffelli, 29, is likely to return, Everitt said: “I’ve got no idea at this stage.
"This is something that we’re going to have to treat sensitively. It’s his second back surgery within 12 months. So we’ll give him as much time as possible."
Boffelli is out of contract at the end of the season, but Everitt was reluctant to discuss his long-term future with the club.
“I think it would be unfair to comment on that when the guy is still lying on his back at home," he said.
"I think for him and us our priority is to get him back up and fit and healthy again, and then those decisions will be made.”
