A historic Edinburgh rugby club that was on the verge of pulling out of league rugby has vowed to fight on next season.
However, Royal High RFC warned the situation remains “precarious”.
Last moth the club said withdrawing from Scottish Rugby’s league structure was a “distinct” possibility due to a lack of playing resources.

A statement from the club - one of the founder members when the Scottish Rugby Union was constituted in 1873 under their former name Royal High School FP - also said "the burden of organising the club” had taken its toll on committee members.
At the time, it described the situation as “exceptionally disappointing” but has now provided a more positive update.
In a social media post, Royal High confirmed they will compete in league rugby in the 2024/25 season.
“The club has decided to continue playing into season 24/25 as we have been able to secure some additional player commitment. Whilst the player situation has slightly improved, we would still benefit from additional volunteer support to assist the committee in running the club.
“Whilst we are extremely pleased to announce the revised outlook and continue the legacy of over 150 years, the club’s situation remains somewhat precarious.”
The club are urging anyone who might be able to offer their support to email secretaryrugby@royalhighrugby.com
Royal High were relegated from East League Division 1 last season after winning just four matches, and are due to begin next season with a trip to Hawick Harlequins.
