Edinburgh Accies will host Hawick in the opening round of next season’s Premiership after Scottish Rugby released the full club fixture list for men and women – while also confirming that FOSROC Super Series will come to an end with this weekend’s matches.
The men’s Premiership campaign gets underway on August 31, with returning side Ayr at home to Currie Chieftains, Glasgow Hawks taking on Musselburgh, Kelso hosting Watsonians, Marr facing Selkirk and Melrose at home to Heriot’s. Accies’ match with Hawick is a repeat of this season’s thrilling Scottish Cup final won by the Mansfield club 32-29.
The women kick off a week earlier on August 24 to ensure the normal season can be completed by December ahead of the start of cup competitions in the new year.
On the opening day, Garioch welcome Corstorphine, Heriot’s take on Stirling County, Hillhead Jordanhill face Stewartry and Watsonians host Cartha Queen’s Park.
All the fixtures – including for National Leagues 1, 2, 3 and 4, and Regional Leagues 1, 2, 3 and 4 – are now available on the Scottish Rugby website.
Scottish Rugby’s Director of Rugby Development Gav Scott said: “The 2023-2024 season was one to remember and although we’re closing that particular chapter now, we are already looking forward to domestic rugby getting back underway in a couple of months.
“There are some really exciting matchups in the first few weeks there and we’ll be keenly watching those moving into new divisions this year as the competitions progress.”
As part of the announcement, Scottish Rugby also confirmed the widely expected news that FOSROC Super Series Championship - which had been pencilled in for later this year - will not take place.
They wrote: “The 2024 FOSROC Super Series Championship will not be played, at the end of the 2024 FOSROC Super Series Sprint, FOSROC Super Series rugby will conclude. The Premiership will be the top level of male club rugby in Scotland.”
