The draw for the 1883 Centenary Cup at this year's Melrose Sevens has pitted the two Premiership finalists against each other in round one.
Hawick will meet Currie Chieftains in the opening game of the day at the Greenyards on April 13.
That will be followed by Borders derbies Gala versus Peebles and Jed-Forest against Kelso, before an Edinburgh derby between Boroughmuir and Watsonians. The winner of the latter tie will face the South of Scotland Barbarians - a select team coached by former Scotland Sevens cap Scott Wight - in round two.
Defending champions Monaco Impi’s will klick off their 1883 Centenary Cup defence against Glasgow Accies
Meanwhile, the women's event, the Mike Bleasdale Trophy will be competed for by six teams.
The trophy is named after former Melrose RFC president and advocate of women’s rugby Mike Bleasdale, who died in 2020.
Last year's winners, The Lionesses, return to defend their title and will meet Shogun Rugby in the first round.
