Gregor Townsend will have to make do without two of his most important players when Fiji visit Murrayfield on Saturday.

Finn Russell, the side's talisman at fly-half, is unavailable for the match as it falls outside World Rugby's international window, while the same rule means Blair Kinghorn will also sit out.

A full list of the players who will miss this weekend's match is below

  • Bath - Josh Bayliss, Finn Russell
  • Leicester Tigers - Will Hurd

  • Northampton Saints - Rory Hutchinson and Elliot Millar Mills
  • Sale Sharks - Arron Reed
  • Scarlets - Alex Craig
  • Toulon - Ben White
  • Toulouse - Blair Kinghorn

The Sharks have agreed hooker Dylan Richardson, one of the stand-out players from the summer tour, is available. Nathan McBeth is the only member of Townsend's 45-man squad who will miss out through injury this weekend.

Our writers have picked their teams for Saturday's match.

After a fine start to the season, Kyle Rowe has done enough to earn the 15 jersey ahead of Harry Paterson, who is still working his way back from injury.

At ten, Adam Hastings' superior international experience gives him the edge over Tom Jordan, who is likely to make his debut from the bench, and the combination of Glasgow scrum-halves George Horne and Jamie Dobie gives Scotland familiarity at half-back.

Up front, this is a good opportunity to leave the first-choice props on the bench with one eye on facing the Springboks next weekend. Rory Sutherland is a British and Irish Lion, while D'Arcy Rae has been in good form for Edinburgh and both are more than capable of doing a job against the Fijians.

Grant Gilchrist and Scott Cummings have played together in the second row plenty of times in the past, while Jack Dempsey could be given this weekend off - again with an eye to the visit of the world champions.

My Scotland XV: Kyle Rowe, Darcy Graham, Huw Jones, Sione Tuipulotu (c), Duhan van der Merwe, Adam Hastings, George Horne; Rory Sutherland, Dylan Richardson, D'Arcy Rae, Scott Cummings, Grant Gilchrist, Jamie Ritchie, Rory Darge, Matt Fagerson

Kyle Rowe's form for Glasgow - he's played five of Glasgow's six URC games so far, scoring three tries - gets him in at fullback with Blair Kinghorn unavailable, with Darcy Graham back on the wing for the first time since the Rugby World Cup and new captain Sione Tuipulotu partnering Huw Jones in the centres.

Ewan Ashman is likely to start at hooker, while the Glasgow back-row should be the trio that lines up against the Springboks next Sunday.

My Scotland XV: Kyle Rowe, Darcy Graham, Huw Jones, Sione Tuipulotu (c), Duhan van der Merwe, Adam Hastings, George Horne; Pierre Schoeman, Ewan Ashman, Zander Fagerson, Scott Cummings, Grant Gilchrist, Matt Fagerson, Rory Darge, Jack Dempsey

Harry Paterson gets the nod at fullback here, with Kyle Rowe on the wing and Darcy Graham and captain Sione Tuipulotu held back for another week.

A strong start to the season sees Tom Jordan take the fly-half jersey ahead of Hastings.

Ben Muncaster gets a first cap at number eight while Mosese Tuipulotu and Freddy Douglas are included on a 6/2 bench in this team.

My Scotland XV: Harry Paterson, Kyle Rowe, Huw Jones, Stafford McDowall, Duhan van der Merwe, Tom Jordan, George Horne; Jamie Bhatti, Ewan Ashman, D'Arcy Rae, Scott Cummings, Max Williamson, Jamie Ritchie, Rory Darge, Ben Muncaster
