Former captain Jamie Ritchie will win his 50th Scotland cap against USA in Washington DC on Friday night (UK time).

Ritchie returns in a completely changed starting XV from last weekend's 73-12 thrashing of Canada.

Scotland will be co-captained by Rory Darge, who resumes the role having led the side during the Six Nations. He will share the responsibility with Sione Tuipulotu.

Darge and Ritchie are joined in the back-row by number eight Matt Fagerson, who returns to USA six years after his Test debut in the sides' last meeting.

Scarlets lock Alex Craig will win his first cap for three years as he partners Scott Cummings in the engine room, with Edinburgh duo Pierre Schoeman and Ewan Ashman packing down alongside Glasgow's Murphy Walker in the front row.

Behind the scrum, George Horne is partnered with Adam Hastings at half-back, while Tuipulotu is reunited with Huw Jones in the midfield.

Duhan van der Merwe, who is one try short of Stuart Hogg's all-time Scotland record, lines up on the left wing, with Kyle Steyn on the opposite flank and Kyle Rowe back in the number 15 jersey.

On the bench, there are three players who made their debuts against Canada as hooker Robbie Smith, lock Max Williamson and centre Matt Currie are all retained in the 23.

Rory Sutherland and Elliot Millar Mills, both starters of the win in Ottawa, are the replacement props, Luke Crosbie covers the back-row. Jamie Dobie - who started the Canada win on the wing but will cover scrum-half this week - and Ross Thompson join Currie as the back division reserves.
