Gregor Townsend has opted for a mix of youth and experience in his Scotland squad for the four-match summer tour to the Americas.

Some of his established first choice players, including Duhan van der Merwe, Huw Jones, Jamie Ritchie and Sione Tuipulotu are in the 37-man squad. Others, like Finn Russell, Blair Kinghorn and Ben White, get the summer off.

In their place, 10 uncapped players will make the trip for games against Canada, USA, Chile and Uruguay that begin on July 6 in Ottawa.

In the latest episode of our podcast, we pick through some of the inclusions, the omissions and the task that lies in store for Townsend and his squad.

We also discuss Glasgow Warriors' United Rugby Championship quarter-final win over Stormers, and look ahead to their last-four trip to Munster.

We'll be back on Saturday morning for a more in-depth preview to that match at Thomond Park.
