Paul was really my brother Tim's best mate along with a lad called Dave Brooks. They all met in the early seventies at British Canners in Hereford, and became fast friends. I met them a little later after leaving the Navy, and being that bit older found they were quite the little gang. Paul had a wicked sense of humour and you had to be on your game to get the better of him. He had Tim in stitches regularly. I remember Paul, Tim and myself all being taken to Malvern Winter Gardens several times during those halcyon days, by our Father who hated 'pop music', to watch Mott The Hoople, a band we lads all loved. Of course Paul had a wise crack to make about Father's ancient Rover car!! After awhile though we kind of lost track with one another, and it was quite a few years before i would see the ever smiling Paul again, and then because i was driving Taxis i would see him all the time or so it seemed, doing various work around Hereford. We always stopped go chat and he always asked after my brother, who by now had moved away, and Paul seemed to genuinely miss not being in contact with him. I did not know Paul was ill, and i was very upset to learn of his passing. I know my brother would also be shocked and upset, but i know not how to contact him!!
Rest in Peace Paul, when i think of you i think of the carefree, Happy days of our youth.
