I am so sorry to learn of Wendy's death. From 1970 when our mother and father, Paddy and Jimmie, moved to Hampton Bishop with Jamie and me and for the next 37 years until Paddy died in 2007 Wendy and family played a big and important part in our family life - and the life of our village as well as more widely in the county. Wendy, like Phil, was greatly welcoming and hospitable, and always a great friend to us all, especially our mum for whom she became a really good and trusted friend. Wise, with great charm, but with clear opinions and a no nonsense style, in parish, community and church affairs Wendy was always greatly appreciated. And clearly a great daughter, wife, daughter-in-law and mother to the lovely and very talented Rogers family, as well as a great neighbour. For many years Wendy and a small group of other women of her age, and our mum who was a little older, explored together so many places in the UK and the world - and I never heard that any of their great trips were anything other than fun and successful.
For Wendy's contribution and friendship to so many, and particularly to our dear mother, Jamie and I will be grateful all our lives - and hold many happy memories. I plan to be at St Andrew's on 13th February to join in the thanksgivings on behalf of all our family, and to give support to Phil and all the family.

A really lovely woman who was one of the keystones of our village and a very dear friend and support to our late mother, Paddy Hughes. Sending love and thoughts to Philip and all her family. May she rest in peace. Jamie
