Roger and I just wanted to say how much we valued David as a friend and here are some of the things we admired and loved about him and which we shall remember whenever we think of him which will be often.

His lovely chuckles and giggles, his soft Manchester accent and his interesting stories.
His love for and pride in Helen, his children and his grandchildren.
His love of growing fruit and vegetables, his home made bread, cakes and puddings.
His enjoyment of a stroll round a garden.
His keen interest in geography, history and current affairs.
His work for the OU in the prison service.
His love of travel and jazz.
Playing the banjo at the Golden Wedding Party.
His enjoyment of a glass of cider and sharing a meal with friends.
His love of walking and cycling.
Pretending to be interested in Roger’s car engines.
The evenings we shared at the ballet at the Hippodrome.
Laughing out loud at the funny bits at the theatre at the RSC.
His warm hospitality, his modesty, his kindness and infectious mirth.

We feel so lucky to have known him and we have so cherished our friendship with him and with Helen over the years. We shall miss him.
