Dear Mike
I can't believe that we have lost you so soon, I was so looking forward to seeing you post covid restrictions but it was not to be. I know we would have talked about the 'old days' at St Mary's and smiled at some of the lighter things that happened. My favourite was when at the beginning of a new academic year the year 7's were worried about getting on the right bus, Mike would call out to them to get on a bus following someone they recognised form the morning 'run' if they were uncertain. Around 4.30 we received a telephone call from a year 7 boy who was in Leominster, the problem was that he lived in Ross!! The boy he had followed had been staying with a mate and had come in with him. Fortunately his parents saw the funny side and set out on 50 mile round trip to retrieve him.
Along with Paul Shannon Mike was one of my two right men for 16 years. Ever reliable, he kept calm in a crisis (we had a few of those) and could be incredibly patient when the occasion demanded. Often the three of us would mull things over when a problem arose and because we were three very different people there were a good range of views. Mike spoke such good sense and we would hopefully make the right decision.

Can Gudrun, Jess, Josh and I extend our sincerest condolences to the family. He was really proud of you all, he used to talk to me about you very often and his love for his family was a shining light for us all.
God bless

Rest in peace Mr Kennedy, a truly fantastic man, helped me through , and guided me when I had hit the brick wall whilst attending st Mary's, his patience and advice just showed how much of a decent genuine man you were. My thoughts and prayers go Mrs Kennedy, who back in the day was my geography teacher miss kinoultey, may your grieving be easy, God bless. Ade Quinn.
