I offer condolences to Clive's family on behalf of Birmingham Museums Trust. Clive was a patron and generous supporter of the Spitfire Gallery at Thinktank Science Museum. A subject that was close to his heart, and which he wanted to ensure was remembered and learnt about by new generations.

Clive and Sylvia were continually generous to us at St Mary's RC High School. Because of their generosity we able to afford new buildings but most importantly the beautiful oak framed chapel which became a focal point for the school. However, Clive was far more than just a generous donor to the school. he frequently visited us and took such an interest in how the school was getting on. I can remember so clearly walking around the school with him on several occasions. he was a true friend to us all.
A year or so before I retired he was the guest of honour at our year 11 presentation evening and he was a delight with his genuine enthusiasm for the youngsters. I remember him helping himself to the refreshments at the end and with a glint in his eye said, "Don't tell Sylvia, these are probably bad for me...."
He kept in contact after I retired and we were looking forward to meeting up but alas not to be. My wife and I will miss him greatly and we extend our sincere condolences to Sylvia and their family. Sylvia you came to see us at school on several occasions and I am sure that you would be more than welcome their in the future. We hope to visit you soon.
Clive and Gudrun
God bless.
