CECIL JAMES On April 12th, aged 102 at West Eaton Nursing Home, Leominster. Born in the Golden Valley. For many years resident at Court of Noke; a man of Herefordshire. Husband of Dorothy, Father of Jennifer and Grandfather of Laura and Mark with many local relatives, missed by all. A ceremony to mark Cecil's life and to inter his ashes will take place in due course.

A real gentleman and kindly person who my husband Tom had the good fortune to go and ride some racehorses out for him at Court of Noke. I also remember his daughter at Lady Hawkins Grammar School, she was in a form lower than myself but a remarkably clever girl. Tom and I used to walk to Court of Noke from Twyford where we lived at time in the 70s and it was a pleasure to see all the beautiful flowers that adorned the front of the Court especially in Spring time. He was a very articulate and intelligent man with a good sense of humour and liked a pint in the New Inn, Pembridge sometimes. Another leader who will be sadly missed by his family and associates.
