I was only recently informed of the passing of Arthur, I was extremely sad at this news. Arthur and I played both football and cricket with Lads Club back in the 1960's and early 70's. We didn't play football in the same team, Arthur being much better than me. In cricket however we played in the same team. He was a very good player and I admired him very much for the way he performed. I was very young when I joined the team. I batted no. 11 and didn't bowl when I started but the encouragement that Arthur gave me was tremendous. He gave me the opportunity to later bat at no. 1, which I did then all my playing life and also to bowl. I left Hereford 49 years ago and am 72 now and still heavily involved in cricket in Nottinghamshire though sadly not now playing. I put my involvement in cricket all these years down to the encouragement and enthusiasm that Arthur gave me and I will always respect and remember him fondly. I am at this time suffering with a broken leg and on crutches and would not have been able to attend Arthur's funeral but my thoughts are very much with your family. My very best wishes. Roger Price
